Spring 2016 Library Tours

Welcome to the Blinn College Library!

The Blinn College Library will be giving tours of the Brenham and Bryan campus libraries beginning on Wednesday, February 3rd through February 5th. These tours will offer Blinn students in all disciplines of study a basic introduction to library resources and services. After touring the facility, a demonstration of the library website will be given in our instructional classroom. The goal of the tour, lasting approximately 30 minutes, will be to make our students feel comfortable in coming to the library and asking for help. Students do not need to make an appointment prior to a tour, but proof of identity is required if your instructor is giving extra credit for attending a tour. A blue ticket may also be issued, if required by an instructor.

In-depth instructional classes are provided throughout the semester, in collaboration with faculty members.. Instruction may vary from finding resources through the Blinn College Library Online Catalog, locating scholarly journal articles in our periodical databases, or evaluating the relevance and authority of information. Classes will be taught in our instructional classroom with hands on activities of skills acquired. The teaching librarian will be giving an assessment of skills taught at the end of each instructional session. Instruction request forms are available online through the library website.

Tours are scheduled at the following times:

Wednesday, February 3 @ 3:00pm
Thursday, February 4 @ 7:00pm
Friday, February 5 @ 11:00am

No reservations necessary! Just come to the "Service Desk" in the library at one of the times listed above.

Please contact a librarian if you would like a tour, but can't make it at any of the times scheduled.
