Bucs’ Talley commits to Nebraska
Blinn College All-American guard Dylan Talley made it official today (April 13), signing a letter of intent to play basketball next season for the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Talley, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound guard from Camden, N.J., committed to Nebraska on April 11 after an official visit to Lincoln. He also had offers from USC, Tennessee, LSU, Gonzaga, Seton Hall and Colorado, but said the chance for immediate playing time, combined with Nebraska’s focus on academics solidified his decision to become a Cornhusker.
"As soon I got off the plane and got back home, I was impressed with Nebraska," Talley said. "I called my mom and grandfather and let them know I didn't want to drag out the process any longer."
Talley finished sixth in the NJCAA with a 22.4 scoring average, and shot 49% from the field and 37% behind the three-point line. He also finished the season averaging 5.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game in earning honorable mention All-American honors for the Buccaneers.
Talley will graduate in from Blinn in May and enroll in summer classes at Nebraska. He is expected to play as a combo guard for the Cornhuskers, both at the point and on the wing.
Led by Talley, the Buccaneers finished the 2010-2011 campaign with a 19-13 record, and advanced to the second round of the Region XIV Tournament.
