Harvey McIntyre is in his fith year as head coach of the Blinn Buccaneer Baseball Team. Coach McIntyre took over the Buccaneers' Program after seven years has the pitching coach under former head Coach Brian Roper. During Coach McIntyre's forth season as head coach, the Buccaneers' posted a 39-17 record and finished runner up in the Region XIV South Conference. McIntyre surpassed the 100-win mark as head coach at Blinn, where he's now 145-86 over four seasons.
The 2010-2011 Buccaneer Team was one (7th in the Nation) of the 2011 NJCAA Spring Academic Teams of the Year. The minimum grade point average requirement was a GPA of a 3.00. The Buccaneer Team posted a GPA of a 3.16. "First and foremost, our kids are getting a quality education and at the same time they are continuing to develop into great baseball players, young men, and leaders." Over the past 11 seasons at Blinn, Coach McIntyre has helped dozens of Buccaneer players go on to find homes at the Division I and MLB Levels (See Former Player Page).
Several players from the 2010-2011 team garnered individual awards. Outfielder Brandon Lawrence earned All-Conference, All-Region, and was a NJCAA All-American. Outfielders Kevin Daniels and Lee Neumann, infielder Josh Foust, and pitchers Jason Simms and Trevor Seidenberger also earned All-Conference honors. There were also a total of eleven players from the 2011 Buccaneer Team that signed national letters of intent with four-year universities. Outfielder Brandon Lawrence with University of Arlington; Infielder Matt Baca with Northwestern State in Louisana; Infielder Josh Foust with Houston Baptist; Pitcher Garrett Staudt with Univerity of Texas in San Antonio; Outfielder Lee Neumann with Angelo State; Pitchers Matt Hernandez and Aaron Stewart with the University of Houston; Josh Dean with Mars Hill College; Catcher Dylan Neal with the University of Oklahoma; Catcher Roman Gomez with St. Mary's University and Infielder Johnny Garcia with St. Mary's University. Catcher Nick DeSantiago was selected in the 5th Round with the 176th overall pick by the Atlanta Braves.
Seven members of the 2011-2012 Blinn Baseball team were selected to participate in the Texas/Newmexico Junior College All-Star Weekend. They were among 26 players selected from eight junior colleges in the Region XIV South. The following players represented the 2011-2012 Blinn Baseball Team: Outfielder Tyler Boss, Klein; Outfielder Kevin Daniels, St. Joesph-Victoria; Pitcher Kevin Hahn, Stratford; Infielder Jake Kane, Dulles; Infielder Eric Preuss, Brenham; Pitcher Trevor Siendenberger, Henderickson; and Pitcher Jason Simms, Liberty Christian.
Coach McIntyre says, "These young men have emerged as leaders of the 2012 Blinn Buccaneer Baseball Team. They set a great example on and off the field. I
believe these six young men will achieve great things in the season to come."
Coach McIntyre is a Brenham native and a 1995 graduate of Brenham High School. During high school, he played under Coach Earl Hathaway and, in 1994, went to
the State Tournament. He began his college career at Howard College in Big
Spring under Brian Roper (1996-1997). He transferred to Northwesteren State
University in Natchitoches, LA, and played baseball for the Demons(1998-1999)
under Rob Childress, Sean McCann, Dave Van Horn, and John Cohen. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in General Studies and, after graduating, he played for the
Alexandria Aces in the Texas-Louisiana Independent Baseball League during the
Summer of 1999. In 2000, he joined his mentor and friend Brian Roper at Blinn
College. While coaching, he received his Master of Education Degree in Health
and Physical Education from Prairie View A&M University in 2005. Coach McIntyre is a Health Instructor at Blinn.
Throughout the year, Coach McIntyre gives lessons to children of all ages, works various camps, and holds the Harvey McIntyre Showcase twice a year at Blinn
College. During the Spring Season, Coach McIntyre, Staff, and Players hosts
a Spring Training Camp with the City of Recreation Department. During this
time, children ages 5-12 will interact with the entire coaching staff and current members of the Buccaneer Baseball Team. All children will be taught the fundamentals of "America's greatest past time." The team also hosts, The Washington County Little League Clinic which is also held during the Spring. The clinic is free to children who want to learn or improve their skills. The Buccaneers' Fundraiser "Turn Back the Clock" is held during two Spring Baseball games. The team donates proceeds from the games to a non-profit organization.
Coach McIntyre is a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brenham Booster Club, Heritage Society of Washington County, and serves as Vice President of the Texas-New Mexico Junior College Coaches Association for the past 4 years. He is also a Soccer Coach for the Washington County Youth Soccer Association. He married to the former Reagan Robinson of Brenham in 2003. They have a daughter Emma Kate, 6 and a son Cooper who is 18 Months. Coach McIntyre enjoys playing golf, hunting, working out, watching college football, and spending time with family and friends.
Troy Moock
Coach Moock enters his fourth season with the buccaneers. His duties include working with the infielders and hitters. Off of the field Moock organizes the Buccaneer's fund raising, club charity events, strength training and recruiting. In 2009 he guided the Buccaneer hitters to a .322 average with a school record 115 homeruns.
Coach Moock has served as the field manager for the Vermont Mountaineers, member of the New Englan Collegitae Baseball League, where he helped guide the team to four of the last five Western Division titles. He also serves as an associate scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Troy has been fortunate to have coached 31 players selected in the Major League Amateur Draft, the highest being the 17th overall pick in 2009.
Moock is a native of Baton Rouge Louisiana. He played his collegiate baseball at East Tennessee State University where he graduated with a degree in Sports Management. He served as the Volunteer assistant at Blinn in 2005 before joining the staff at Northwestern State University in the same capacity. Coach Moock resides in Brenham with his beautiful wife Aubre' and her son Keylon.
Jake Carlson - assistant
Jake Carlson begins his 1st season with the Buccaneers. His duties will include working with the outfielders, hitters and assisting with recruiting.
Coach Carlson begins his 8th season at the collegiate level with stops at Odessa College, Coffeyville Community College and Nicholls State University. Coach Carlson is also an associate scout with the Kansas City Royals.
A native of Manhattan, Kansas, Carlson prepped at Manhattan High School. While at Manhattan High School, Carlson was a two time all-state outfielder and was named Honarable Mention All-American his Senior year. Manhattan High School won the 6A State Championship during Carlsons Sr. year. After high school, Carlson attended Butler County Community College and as a Soph. was an all-conference outfielder. After Butler Carlson transferred to Nicholls State University and finished the remaining two years of his collegiate playing career.
Coach Carlson has a Bachelor of Science degree from Nicholls State University.
