Blinn Lady Bucs received NJCAA all-American recognition
Two members of the Blinn College women's basketball team have received National Junior College Athletic Association all-American recognition.
Guard Timila Martin, a 5-6 sophomore from Bryan, was named to the third team, and forward Alisha Williams, a 5-11 sophomore also from Bryan, received honorable mention honors.
Martin, who averaged 15.7 points and 4.1 assists this past season, was earlier named the Region 14 most valuable player. Her 486 points on the season was the fifth-most in Blinn team history.
Williams was named all-region and all-conference, averaging 12.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. She is 19th in all-time scoring with 396 points and 18th in all-time rebounding with 227.
Martin and Williams are two of 11 sophomores head coach Jeff Jenkins will have to replace from a team that finished 26-6, the most single- season wins in the program's history.

In a game worthy of the Region XIV Championship, the Blinn College Lady Bucs fell by a score of 83-81 to Trinity Valley. The Lady Bucs were lead by Alexis Green with 23 points and Alisha Williams with 21 points. Both Alexis Green and Alisha Williams were named to the Region XIV All-Tournament Team. The Lady Bucs finish the season with a 26-6 overall record.
Earlier in the tournament Blinn defeated Angelina College 86-68 to advance to the Region XIV Championship Game. The Lady Bucs were lead by Alexis Green with 19 points and Alisha Williams with 12 rebounds and 15 points.
March 4, 2008
The Blinn College Women's team defeated Panola College 91-76
in Carthage to move the overall record to 25-5 for the best finish
in school history. The
Lady Bucs are a lock for the #2 seed in the Region
XIV Tournament hosted by Kilgore College with
a first round bye and will play Sunday. The

March 1, 2008
The #17 Lady Bucs defeated
#11 ranked and league leading, Trinity Valley 69-64. The wins locks the
Lady Bucs (24-5, 13-4) into the #2 seed for the Region XIV Tournament
next weekend.
Feb. 27, 2008
Lady Bucs fell to Angelina College 71-63 in Lufkin Wednesday
night. The loss moves the team's record to 23-5 and 12-4 in conference.
The next contest will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at home featuring
Sophomore Day against conference foe Trinity Valley. - STORY

The #17 ranked Lady Buccaneers (23-4, 12-3) fell 77-76 to Tyler
Junior College Wednesday night. The back and forth battle wasn't
decided until the final seconds. The women return to the court
Wednesday, Feb. 27 in Lufkin to face Angelina College.
Feb. 16, 2008
After being on the road for two consecutive days the Blinn women
welcomed Lon Morris College to Brenham. The
#17 ranked Lady Bucs defeated Lon Morris College by
a score of 84-62. The Lady Bucs were led by Jessica
Walker who had 17 points. The women improved their record
to 23-3 overall and 12-2 in Region XIV play.
Feb. 13, 2008
The Blinn College Women's Basketball Team added another win
to its impressive season with a 78-55 victory over Paris Junior
College. The win marks the 22nd of the season and its eleventh
in Region IV play. The Lady Bucs (22-3, 11-2) resume their season
Saturday at home against Lon Morris College with tip-off at 2pm.

The Blinn College Women's Basketball team eclipsed the twenty
win mark for the third year in a row under Coach Jeff Jenkins.
The Lady Bucs defeated San Jacinto College by a score of 100-68,
they were lead by Timila
Martin who scored 18. The Lady Bucs are currently 20-3 and
9-2 in Region XIV play. The Lady Bucs next game is Saturday at
Jacksonville College.

Strong sophomore class gives Bucs depth
If what he saw in his players in September is any indication
of what is to come during the rest of the season, Lady Buc head
coach Jeff Jenkins is very optimist about the 2007-2008 campaign.
“We’re deep, no doubt; with 11 sophomores we have
depth,” Jenkins
says. “But we are also very competitive and very aggressive.
“I saw that very early in September and that’s unusual.
Usually we have to teach that. It’s already there.”
Jenkins
goes so far as to say that this is the best team -- on paper
