MAKING THE TEAM

The Tryouts…

The Blinn Cheer Program will host a number of tryout sessions each spring to assess the skills, abilities and potential of interested and qualified candidates for the various cheer squads and positions.

Tryout sessions are intended to be low stress events. For that reason they are conducted in a practice-like environment during which the level of each candidate’s skills and talents, and their ability to work with current and prospective team members, will be evaluated. A short interview with the candidate may be conducted at anytime during the sessions.

We will have 3 open practices, and you may attend all three or just one. You will need to email Jamie Everett in order attend these sessions.

Tryouts for 2010…

•Wednesday, April 14, 3-5
•Saturday, April 24, 1-4
•Saturday, May 8, 9-2

A final squad will be selected by May 8th

Tryout attire…

Come ready to practice. Shorts and T-shirts for males. Shorts and sports bra for women.

Common Questions and Answers

Yes, we will be making cuts at all 3 tryout sessions.

When will we find out who made the team? and How many people will make it?

Announcements will be made on May 8th, and posted on the web site the following week.  About 20-22 cheerleaders will make the team.

Can my family and friends watch the practice?

NO!

Where are the tryouts held?

Heineke Gym on the Brenham Campus

What if I cannot attend all 3 sessions?

It is not mandatory to attend all 3 sessions.  I will consider each session a tryout.
