Blinn baseball announces early signees
Two Brenham High School standouts are among the nine players
who have already signed to play baseball at Blinn College in
2008-2009, head baseball coach Harvey McIntyre has announced.
"Because we have such a large class returning next year to play, we were
able to bear down and be especially selective with the few kids who we needed
to bring in for next season," McIntyre said. "Our focus was on players
who could make an immediate impact in the middle of our lineup."
The signees are:
Isaac Nutti, switch-hitting infielder from Brenham,
P.D. McIntyre, left-handed
hitting catcher from Brenham,
Will McCaleb, third baseman from Bellaire,
Michael Guerra, shortstop from Alvin,
Chase Brown,
center fielder from Arlington Martin,
Chris Hernandez, outfielder
and
pitcher from George Bush High School
in Sugar Land,
Jonathan Delgado,
right-handed pitcher from College Park High School
in The Woodlands,
Covey Morrow, left-handed pitcher from Yoakum, and
Colton
Eubanks, right-handed pitcher from Caldwell.
“We are extremely excited about the athletes we were able to sign so far
this year,” McIntyre said. “It is very rare to sign every player
that you were actively pursuing and we know how fortunate we were in our recruiting
this fall.
"We cannot wait to have these young men on campus next fall, and we have
great expectations for them all.”
