Ms. Slagel was born in Peoria, Illinois and was raised in Richardson, Texas. She moved to the Bryan/College Station area in the Fall of 1999.

Ms. Slagel received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Teacher Certification) and her Master of Science in Kinesiology (Sport Management) both from Texas A&M University in 1995 and 2002 respectively. She is also Certified, by American Red Cross, as a CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor.

Ms. Slagel joined Blinn in the Fall of 2002. She teaches Responding to Emergencies (First Aid) at Blinn and she currently teaches classes at Texas A&M University.
