Dr. Rachel Jumper got her B.A. in Speech Communication from Texas A&M (Class of '03, WHOOP!). She then moved to Auburn, AL where she got her M.S. in Human Development in Family Studies with an emphasis in Child Development from Auburn University (WAR EAGLE!). At Auburn, she studied emotion regulation and social intelligence in preschool children. She then moved back to College Station and got her PhD in Health Communication from Texas A&M. Her dissertation focused on the experiences of bullying for late elementary & middle school students.
Rachel has taught a variety of courses at Texas A&M, Lonestar Community College, and Blinn College including Intercultural Communication, Family Communication, Social Science Methodology, Interviewing, Business & Professional Communication, Interpersonal, and of course, Public Speaking!
She has won two awards for her teaching including the Association of Former Students Graduate Teaching Award at Texas A&M. Rachel loves teaching and strives to bring relevance to all the courses she teaches by including current events & popular culture into the classroom.When she isn't in the classroom, she loves to sew, bake, and hang out with her friends and her English Springer Spaniel, Emily.
