Mi-Na Lim, a native of South Korea, began her career at an early age by winning the young artist division of the prestigious Cincinnati World Piano Competition. She holds her degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (BM, MM) and Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University (DMA) in Piano Performance. She has studied with some renowned pedagogues- Paul Hoffmann, Franck Weinstock and Awadagin Pratt. She has appeared in various solo, chamber and collaborative recitals both in United States (such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie) and abroad presenting wide range of repertoires from renaissance to contemporary. While she was pursuing her degrees, she was in the dean’s list and awarded with the University Merit Scholarship and University Graduate Scholarship. Her teaching experience includes private lessons at institutions where she taught students, ages from 4-adults (including the students with learning disabilities). She has also completed a intensive piano pedagogy courses where she taught private lessons, group lessons, organized student recitals, and gave masterclasses. Dr. Lim currently teaches music appreciation and accompanies for the choral ensemble at Blinn College in Bryan.
