Celestial Sound: Musical selections that capture the beauty of the human voice and inspire us to reach for the stars.
The first half of the program contains wonderful choral staples, including Victoria's "Jesu dulcis memoria," Handel's "Hallelujah, Amen," David's "You Are the New Day," Stroope's "Cloths of Heaven," and Pinkham's "Christmas Cantata." The second half of the program features great pop selections, such as "Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek," Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," and others. Faculty members Doug Tomlin, guitar and Todd Quinlan, drums will join us for these selections.

Then on Sunday, December 8, 5:00 pm, at Christ United Methodist Church in College Station, the Blinn Choir joins the musicians of the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra in their annual Holiday Pops concert. This will be the second year in a row that the group has been invited to sing with the symphony for this performance. They will be singing Pinkham's "Christmas Cantata" for this concert- an epic piece of Christmas Choral repertoire. The Varsity Women's Choir of College Station High School and the Chancel Choir of Christ United Methodist Church will also join. Tickets can be purchased by going to www.bvso.org. This is a fantastic concert to celebrate the season.
