Summer Orientation, Advising & Registration

ATTENTION: All new Blinn College – Bryan student are encouraged to attend S.O.A.R.

Here’s what you get when you sign-up:

Advisement for Fall 2012 classes,
Participate in a guided registration,
Got questions, we’ve got the answers:
1. Where do I park for my classes?
2. What is the six drop rule?
3. When is my registration payment due?
4. Where can I get tutoring?
5. What is the attendance policy?
6. Civility what (i.e. – how am I expected to act in class)?
7. Who can I talk to about career options?
8. What is FERPA?
9. How can I get involved with a student organization?
10. How do I register my disability and get accommodations?

On campus orientation includes group and individual advising sessions, an introduction to Blinn College technology, sessions on student services and academic expectations, a student panel Q&A, parent information session, campus tours and more.

The formal program will start at 8:30 a.m. and conclude by 3:00 p.m. Sessions times are subject to change.

8:00 a.m.	Student/Parent Check-In
8:30 a.m.	Opening Session
9:00 a.m.	Breakout & Advising Sessions begin
12:00 p.m.	*Lunch, Campus Tours and Resource Fair
1:00 p.m.	Breakout and Advising Sessions Continue
3:00 p.m.	Guided Registration opens; Visit specific offices, the bookstore, etc. as needed
